ABOUT US

Melbourne’s very first Autism Health & Well Being Expo was held on the 25th July 2015 at the Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre in Preston (Victoria, Australia). With 70 Exhibitors and around 1500 people through the doors on the day, the Expo was a massive success. During the months that followed, lots of work went into developing a plan to build upon the Expo and run it again, as well as having it be a platform to help the autism community in other ways.

In December 2015, the Autism Health & Well Being (AHWB) Association Incorporated – a not-for-profit charity – was established and this charity organisation is focusing on four areas of need:

  • having information on services and products more easily available by way of our AHWB Expos
  • finding jobs for teenagers and adults with autism
  • helping businesses, retail stores, corporate workplaces and other organisations understand what autism means and how they can make their workplace be an “Autism Friendly Place”
  • establishing AHWB Centre’s across Australia so information is on hand everyday and into the evening for people with autism, carers and the wider community.
